The Glen at Willow Valley Retirement Communities, Lancaster, Pennsylvania

A five story private and semi-private residence retirement center that includes resident rooms, food serving rooms, community lounges, activity rooms, fitness areas, dining rooms, nurses stations, and laundry rooms on each floor.  There is a central kitchen located on the first floor.  During the recent renovations, the existing HVAC system was upgraded to meet the new space needs and configuration.  The existing piping system was reused and reconfigured to meet the new heat pump capacity demands, and the central dedicated outdoor air unit was upgraded to accommodate the new ventilation requirements.  A total of approximately 250 heat pumps were replaced.  The new ventilation system supplies approximately 38,000 CFM of fresh air to the five floors.  Before the new design started, a survey of the existing systems was conducted in order to maximize reusing the existing piping and duct work.  A high level of coordination between disciplines was incorporated into the design due to the tight space constraints.

Jake’s Way Back Burger, Various Locations

This project included MEP engineering services for approximately 1,600 – 2,200 square foot restaurant fit-outs in existing spaces of malls or shopping centers with connections to existing utilities. There have been 5 projects located in New Jersey, Delaware, New York and Maryland. Paragon provides HVAC, plumbing and electrical design for all kitchen and dining spaces including connections to restaurant equipment. Typically, Paragon would evaluate existing conditions including HVAC and plumbing equipment and electrical/plumbing utilities and determine whether to modify or replace with new as necessary to fit the requirements of the restaurant and Jake’s Way Back Burgers’ design standards.

St. Francis Xavier New Parish Life and Education Center

The project included a new single story 31,400sf life and education center to include 12 classrooms, multipurpose room, offices, and a commercial kitchen.  A new 1200 amp, 208/120 volt, 3 phase electrical service was installed to power the building.  Power was provided to all equipment connections in the commercial kitchen and all building systems.  New high efficiency T5 fluorescent lighting was installed throughout the facility.  Automatic lighting control was achieved through the use of occupancy sensors in offices and classrooms, and a lighting control panel to control the lights in the common spaces and parking lot lights.  At the front entrance to the facility LED lights were used to backlight stain glass windows.  A paging/sound system included speaker layout in Multi-purpose room, Amplifier, and associated wiring.  The CCTV system included cameras at locations designated as directed by the owner, rack mounted DVR system, and associated wiring.  The Intercom & Paging system included speakers throughout facility, control panel, Paging station, and associated wiring as well as a synchronized clock system.  The phone and data system included Cat 6 jacks, Cat 6 cable, grounding, patch panels, and data rack layouts.
